About Kay

Kay has a degree in music and spent several years as a music teacher. She is a Certified Music Arranger (CMA) in Sweet Adelines and is currently serving as the Moderator for the Arranger Certification Program Coordinators Committee, an International appointment. She has also been a church pianist and organist for many years, and she was a Sweet Adeline chorus director for about four years, including a year directing a multi-lingual prospective chorus in Peru, South America. She has been a Sweet Adeline since 1976 and has been arranging almost that long! She lives in Urbandale, Iowa, and currently sings baritone with the Kansas City Chorus and Topeka Acapella Unlimited Chorus. She was the baritone in Special Arrangement Quartet, which retired in 2013 after 20 years of singing together! Kay is an Approved Judge in the Music category in Sweet Adelines.

 

Kay wrote the curriculum for an Arrange By Mail program and was the instructor for that program, which was utilized in Region 20, Region 7, and Region 5. She was on the Sweet Adeline International Task Force which wrote the curriculum for the Arranger Certification Program. She is currently the only CMA in Region 5.
